SFJAZZ is an internationally recognized nonprofit organization specializing in the promotion and education of Jazz Music. This project is the first facility on the West Coast fully dedicated to jazz music history, education, and performance. The new SFJAZZ Center will reach up to 10,000 people annually and create 25 full-time jobs, 250 jobs for local musicians & freelancers, & 500 construction jobs.
This New Markets Tax Credit project totaled $40,675,000. It was funded through the partnership of Clearinghouse CDFI, San Francisco Community Investment Fund, Northern California Community Loan Fund, Non Profit Finance Fund, & USBancorp Community Development Corporation.
Clearinghouse Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) provides economic opportunities and improves the quality of life for lower-income individuals and communities through innovative and affordable financing that is unavailable in the conventional market. Clearinghouse CDFI does not have predefined loan programs. Each potential loan is analyzed individually to identify creditworthy borrowers with projects that create community assets, but who may have been rejected or overlooked by other lenders. Every loan made by Clearinghouse CDFI benefits the community in a measurable way. Historically, Clearinghouse CDFI loans serve over 287,000 individuals annually, created/ retained over 4,500 permanent and construction jobs, and funded over $760 million in community development loans.
