Clearinghouse CDFI (CCDFI) contributed $12 million in NMTC financing to the West Las Vegas Library for construction and expansion of the current facility.
The West Las Vegas Library has stood as a cherished community hub for over 50 years. The library fosters community engagement through story times, cultural events, live performances, after-school tutoring, and STEAM activities, catering to the evolving needs of the culturally diverse community and offering enhanced educational resources and programs that celebrate heritage and promote literacy. Financing provided by CCDFI supports the construction of a new state-of-the-art 40,000-square-foot library, more than doubling the size of the current facility. This transformative project embodies a commitment to uplift and empower the Historic Westside community for years.
The West Las Vegas Library, established through community activism in the 1970s, serves as a vibrant hub for education and inclusion, offering resources like the African American Special Collection and free tutoring to empower its community.
