$3.35 Million for Nonprofit Empowering Students through Financial Literacy

Junior Achievement of Southern California (JA SoCal) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preparing young people to succeed in a global economy. It provides academic focused, real-world experiences that teach students how to make smart financial decisions and plan for the future.

Clearinghouse CDFI provided $3.35 million in financing for JA SoCal to continue inspiring and empowering students through its valuable programs at their Los Angeles Finance Park facility. This includes financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and work readiness programs that impart a critical understanding of economics and business concepts. Students learn skills such as how to generate/manage wealth, how to create jobs, and how to apply entrepreneurial thinking to the workplace.

JA SoCal serves over 70,000 students annually, of which 68% are from low-income families. This project will retain 24 full-time jobs.
