Building Bridges through Outreach Leadership Development

May 2016, Lake Forest, CA: Inspired by the values of the B Corp community to “build bridges,” ‘B’ BOLD is a new initiative created by Clearinghouse CDFI to empower and develop the next generation. Clearinghouse CDFI, with the support and generosity of its community partners, has created a summer internship program for college-bound high school juniors and seniors from low-income families.
The purpose of the program is to invest in tomorrow’s leaders. Interns will gain exposure to a professional setting, receive real life job skills, and access to positive role models. The Allen Peters Baldwin ‘B’ BOLD Internship Program will help empower youths from low-income areas that do not have access to the same resources and opportunities.
Clearinghouse CDFI believes it is important to build a bridge to the next generation so that tomorrow’s leaders will continue to build mission driven businesses.
Meet the 2016 ‘B’ BOLD Interns:
Jesus Medina & Alejandro Tepayotl
Jesus Medina is a high achieving and driven student at Ocean View High School. He is entering his junior year and is a member of El Viento, Engineering to the Community, Business Academy and SteppingUP. Alejandro Tepayotl is a dedicated student at Ocean View High School who is involved in Business Academy, cross country, track and field, and SteppingUP. He is entering his senior year and aspires to be a community developer. His philosophy to treat others as he would want to be treated and overall team player attitude exemplifies the ‘B’ BOLD spirit.
