$10 Million of Federal NMTCs to Construct a New Hospital Annex and Healthcare Clinic to Support Medically Underserved Tribal Community

San Carlos Apache Health Center – Eastern Arizona

Clearinghouse CDFI (CCDFI) provided $10 million of NMTC allocation to build two healthcare-related facilities on The San Carlos Apache Reservation. This financing supports the construction, development, and leasing of a 45,000-square-foot hospital annex in Peridot, Arizona, and an approximately 34,000-square-foot healthcare clinic in Bylas.

CCDFI previously provided allocation to The San Carlos Apache Tribe in completing their first NMTC transaction in 2018. Clearinghouse CDFI is pleased to return to the San Carlos Apache Reservation, this time, in partnership with Dakotas CDE, Pacesetter CDE, Ecotrust CDE, and CCG Community Partners. Wells Fargo also provided NMTC allocation and was the project investor.

This project is an integral component of a comprehensive strategic plan developed by The San Carlos Apache Healthcare Corporation. The plan aims to enhance healthcare services for Tribal Members and others in the community.  The San Carlos Apache Health Center serves a medically underserved population of 3,500 patients annually. This development creates 84 construction jobs and 30 permanent jobs while retaining 64 jobs.
