Robyne’s Nest – Huntington Beach, CA

Clearinghouse CDFI (CCDFI) provided $760,000 to Robyne’s Nest for the acquisition of a single-family residence to operate a shelter for at-risk and homeless high school students.

Robyne’s Nest is a non-profit organization that provides resources, funds, and support to at-risk and homeless high school students in the Huntington Beach area. Financing provided by CCDFI allows Robyne’s Nest to acquire a 3-bedroom, 2-bath house, providing shelter to area high school students. The home is within a 2-mile radius of two separate high schools. Robyne’s Nest plans to expand this home to 5 bedrooms to house even more at-risk teens. There are currently 49 students in the Robyne’s Nest program. These students receive support with security, routine, and a place to belong.

Robyne’s Nest began in 2015. The organization works to support homeless high school students who become abandoned, kicked out of their homes, or are being neglected by their parents/guardians. This proactive approach aims to prevent youth drug use, crime, homelessness, human trafficking, and reduce the risk of early parenthood.
