$1.2MM Loan Secures Refinancing of Property for Relocation and Expansion of Mental Health Services

Clearinghouse CDFI (CCDFI) extended a $1,200,000 loan to Special Service for Groups, Inc. (SSG). This loan supports SSG’s efforts to relocate their San Francisco operations to a new property in Oakland.

SSG is relocating its San Francisco operations to a 3-story single-family home in Oakland. The property was previously used for medical offices, and the location is better suited to serve their clientele. Financing from CCDFI helps SSG refinance the property and replenish cash reserves while waiting on federal and county payments. The property, previously used for medical offices, is currently zoned for medical use, making it ideal for SSG’s counseling and outpatient services.

Special Service for Groups, Inc. is a nonprofit organization focused on enhancing the health and welfare of at-risk communities by creating and sustaining community-based mental health initiatives. SSG’s programs aim to decrease hospital stays and provide a substitute for inpatient care to those who require it.
