Thank you to Victoria and Salvador, our 2017 ‘B’ BOLD Internship Awardees. It has been a pleasure having you with us this summer. Good luck on senior year!

Get to know them:

Q: What is a fun fact about yourself?
Victoria: I love running!
Salvador: I actually can play 3 instruments: the trumpet, French horn, and saxophone

Q: What was your favorite experience during your internship:
Victoria: My favorite experience was working with Clearinghouse CDFI’s nonprofit partner, Affordable Housing Clearinghouse to make fun memes.
Salvador: I liked when the interns were able to sit in during a companywide meeting and got to talk with staff about company goals.

Q: What did being an intern this summer mean to you?
Victoria: Being an intern this summer taught me that I can do anything that I put my mind to and the importance of having good mentors. All the staff was really great with offering assistance any time I needed it.
Salvador: Being an intern at Clearinghouse CDFI taught me that responsibility and communicating well with others are important skills to have in the workplace. The staff was very helpful and always offered to help.

Q: What are some plans you have for the next few years?
Victoria: I plan to graduate from high school and hopefully get into the University of California, Irvine and major in criminal justice or computer science.
Salvador: My plan is to go to college at University of California, Berkeley. Go CAL Bears!

Q: Do you have any final words you’d like to share with Clearinghouse CDFI?
Victoria: I’d like to thank the staff for making this internship possible and a great experience!
Salvador: I’d like to give a huge THANK YOU to everyone at Clearinghouse CDFI! Let this not be a ‘goodbye’, but a ‘see you later’ instead.
