Cristo Rey Fort Worth Campus Expansion Establishes STEAM Learning Center
Clearinghouse CDFI provided $1,425,000 in financing to support campus expansion and facility improvements at the Cristo Rey Fort Worth college preparatory school campus. The project creates a state-of-the-art STEAM center designed to strengthen academic programming and position the school for long-term enrollment growth, located in a moderate-income census tract serving a diverse student population.
Cristo Rey Fort Worth is part of the Cristo Rey Network (CRN), a network of Catholic high schools across the United States serving students from income-qualified households. Clearinghouse CDFI has partnered with the network previously, including financing for Cristo Rey St. Viator College Preparatory High School.
Campus Expansion and Modernization
The project includes approximately 6,400 square feet of newly constructed space and 6,400 square feet of renovated facilities. It will transform the existing auditorium into an innovative two-story STEAM-focused learning center featuring 12 classrooms with capacity for 450 students. This represents a 175% increase over current enrollment. The project retains 47 existing jobs and creates five new positions, supporting educational access and local employment stability.
The expansion is expected to reduce cost per student while increasing enrollment and revenue, decreasing the school’s reliance on fundraising.
