Key Community Housing

Clearinghouse CDFI (CCDFI) provided a $776,000 loan to Key Community Housing (KCH) for the acquisition of a single-family home that will operate as an enhanced behavioral support facility for adults with developmental disabilities.

The California Department of Housing and Community Development’s statewide housing assessment reveals that individuals in CA disability programs receiving only Supplemental Security Income earn only 41% of the 2020 criteria for Extremely Low Income in San Diego. Thanks to CCDFI’s $776k loan, four adults with developmental disabilities will have access to round-the-clock healthcare and intensive support services in a homelike environment. The residence is being modified for the appropriate staffing, consultation, and enhanced characteristics such as secured perimeter fences.

Key Community Housing, a non-profit public benefit corporation, is dedicated to offering affordable and community-based supportive housing for individuals with special housing needs. Through collaborative partnerships, the organization has been actively addressing the housing crisis in Southern California for low-income individuals with developmental or other disabilities.
