Second Start: Learning Disabilities Program

Second Start: Learning Disabilities Programs (SSLDP) is a nonprofit, K-12 private school located in Reno, Nevada. Its specialties include academic, transitional, and therapeutic services for disadvantaged and at-risk students living with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Clearinghouse CDFI provided a $625,000 loan to help SSLDP secure a new, permanent educational center.

SSLDP’s headquarters will be more conveniently located and better equipped to serve students who face daily social, learning, and emotional challenges. In addition to a $10,000 annual savings on leasing costs, SSLDP will also be able to improve and expand services offered to their 150 students.
