Special Service for Groups – Florence House

Clearinghouse CDFI (CCDFI) is working with Special Service for Groups, Inc. (SSG) to finance Florence House, a residential mental health treatment program with a $3,750,000 loan.

In L.A. County, an increasing number of short-term mental health homes are closing down due to financial pressure and a lack of support from the government. SSG is working to overcome challenges to provide short-term residence to individuals in need of intensive and supportive mental health services. Florence House, a Crisis Residential Treatment Program, is one of these residences, offering short-term residential care to adult individuals in a safe and therapeutic, homelike environment. Financing from CCDFI enables SSG to refinance Florence House, ensuring 24-hour care, 9 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, and storage space for up to 16 individuals.

Special Service for Groups, Inc. is a non-profit organization that prioritizes improving the health and well-being of vulnerable communities by developing and maintaining community-based programs. Its programs offer an alternative to hospitalization and reduce inpatient days for individuals in need.
