Congratulations to HELP of Southern Nevada on the grand opening of their new Shannon West Homeless Youth Center! The new center will provide living space for 120 homeless youths who are in need of temporary shelter while they continue their education or obtain job training. We are proud to support such an impactful project.

We are so pleased that we were able to participate in Share Our Selves’ Adopt a Family program again this year! Staff had a great time wrapping gifts and donating their time to provide food and presents to over 1,200 needy families in the Orange County area.    

Leo Carrillo, Housing Specialist for Clearinghouse CDFI’s nonprofit partner Affordable Housing Clearinghouse, is definitely a “Tough Mudder” with a big heart! Leo recently participated in (and smashed) the Temecula Tough Mudder – a punishing 12 mile obstacle course which promotes friendship over finishing rank or completion time. Congratulations to Lake Mead Christian Academy on their groundbreaking ceremony in Henderson, NV! Clearinghouse CDFI sponsored the fireworks show during the event which was a rousing addition to the ceremony. Lake Mead Christian Academy currently serves 610 students and carries a higher graduation rate than the overall state. Financing for this project was made possible through $100 million in bond

Clearinghouse CDFI staff had a great time at Orange County Community Housing Corporation’s (OCCHC) open house event on September 24th. OCCHC is a nonprofit organization who transition extremely low income families towards greater self sufficiency by assisting them with housing and education. Congratulations on the new location!  

Clearinghouse CDFI staff had a blast at Mary Erickson Community Housing’s Annual Fundraising Dinner and Beach Party on August 7th. Mary Erickson Community Housing provides safe, affordable housing and educational opportunities to promote self-sufficiency for low income families. Congratulations on 12 years of service!
